Attorney David E. Waterstradt in West Michigan

David Waterstradt is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA), one of only a handful of attorneys in the State of Michigan who has earned CELA certification from the National Elder Law Foundation. He has over twenty-five years of experience in estate and tax planning, trust administration, elder law, Medicaid planning and special needs planning. For ten years, prior to starting his own practice, David was Senior Counsel with a highly regarded 200 plus attorney firm, Warner Norcross & Judd, LLP. He holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the Northwestern University School of Law and is a cum laude graduate of Grand Valley State University with B.A. degrees in Economics and French. He is also an Accredited Attorney through the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of General Counsel.

David is currently a member of the Lake Michigan Estate Planning Council and National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys as well as the Charted Coalition (a non-profit organization which promotes advance-care planning). He is also past President of the Muskegon County Bar Association and Muskegon ARC.

David and his wife have three children, Abigail, Mathias and Rebecca and one grandchild, Ivy. Carolyn is a LMSW clinical social working in private practice. Abigail is employed in the horticulture industry after receiving a degree in Environmental Science. Mathias has a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and is employed as a computer programmer. Rebecca is a certified Massage Therapist and owns her own massage therapy practice.

Avery is a graduate of Hope College and has a degree in History. 

She also serves as Assistant Cross-Country Coach at Hope.

She enjoys painting and hanging out with friends and family.
